Certification Mark and Permitted Claims

This policy governs how the Data Bureau certification mark may be displayed, in what variants and colour treatments, and what claims a certificate holder may make in connection with it. It is binding on all current certificate holders.

Section 1

Purpose

The certification mark is displayed by entities holding a current Data Bureau certificate. It identifies a credential and does not constitute an endorsement. This document is read with Interpretation Note IN-001, The Scope of a Certificate.

The mark comprises three fields:

Monogram plate. White field carrying the Data Bureau corporate signature unaltered.
Attestation lines. Certification name and certificate class.
Credential field. Certificate number.

The credential code is a constituent element of the mark. It is not omitted in any variant.

Full colour on a white or light ground. Preferred.
Monochrome.

The monogram plate remains white in all four treatments.

Clear Space

X equals the height of the monogram field. No text, rule, image or competing mark may enter the clear field on any side. Where the mark appears alongside other certification marks, X is measured from the outermost edge of each.

Section 6

Live Behaviour

Wherever the mark is displayed digitally it hyperlinks to the holder's own verification record. It does not link to the Data Bureau homepage or to the registry search form.

Section 7

Approved Wording

Holders may use the following verbatim.

Full form

[Entity Name] holds Data Bureau Certificate [Certificate Number], Certificate of Verified Business Entity (VBE-01), valid to [Date]. Verify at databureau.com.sg.

Short form

Data Bureau Certified — Verified Business Entity (VBE-01). Certificate [Certificate Number].

Descriptive form, where the mark is not displayed

Independently assessed against the Data Bureau Certification Standard for Verified Business Entity. Assessment methodology published at databureau.com.sg.

Section 8

Barred Claims

The following are prohibited.

Government approved, government certified, or nationally accredited
Data Bureau guarantees, Data Bureau endorses, or scam-free guaranteed
Display of the mark for a parent, subsidiary, franchisee, branch or affiliate of the certificate holder
Display of the mark without the credential code, or with the code obscured
Retention of the mark after expiry, suspension or revocation
Any use by a Recognised Partner implying Data Bureau authority
